First ever Urban Music Awards in Sydney

The first ever Urban Music Awards to be held in Australia are having a really slow response - think, MTV Awards but all urban and hiphop, with international acts like DJ Jazzy Jeff (Fresh Prince of Bel Air ring a bell?), Kurtis Blow ("The Breaks") and most of the past and present Australian and New Zealand urban recording artists, DJs, MCs and dancers (Darriostreet and Melanie Hitchcock, both my mentors, heading a whole bunch of local talent).
It's on Friday, 21st July at the Homebush State Sports Centre with a 5:30pm start with black carpet arrivals, doors open 6pm, 7pm award show, 9pm – 11pm concert mode. Apparently most people who have heard of the UMAs don't realise they can buy tickets - YES you can, and it's cheap, only around $40 so come on guys! Get your tickets from Ticketek.
